General Program Guidelines & Policies

Safety & Pick-Up

  • Only authorized individuals listed in your email or registration form will be allowed to pick up your child.

  • Any changes in pick-up arrangements must be communicated in writing via email.

  • All individuals picking up a child must present a valid government-issued photo ID at dismissal for verification purposes.

Late Pick-Up Policy

  • Timely pick-up is essential. A late fee may be assessed for children picked up more than 10 minutes after the designated program end time.

  • Please communicate any delays as early as possible so we can ensure your child is supervised appropriately.  Same-day changes or delays after 12:00 PM must be communicated by phone, not email.  You can reach us at 646-938-6257 between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

  • For non-urgent matters or future-date schedule updates, you may email us at info@bb101q.org

 Drop-In Policy

  • Drop-ins are welcomed on a daily basis for our Extended Stay program for an additional fee of $15.

  • Parents/guardians must email us in advance to confirm a drop-in.

  • In the email, please include:

  • The name of your child.

  • The date(s) of the drop-in.

  • The name of the adult who will pick up your child.

Behavior Expectations

  • We foster a respectful and positive atmosphere for all children, staff, and families.

  • Respectful behavior is expected at all times. This includes following directions, using appropriate language, and treating others with kindness.

  • Disruptive, physically aggressive, or verbally abusive behavior will not be tolerated. If such behavior is repeated, families will be contacted and a meeting may be required.

  • Zero tolerance for bullying: Any incidents of bullying—verbal, physical, or social—will be taken seriously and may lead to suspension or immediate removal from the program.

  • Program Discretion: For the safety and well-being of students and staff, Busy Bees reserves the right to modify a child’s participation, suspend enrollment, or remove a child from the program at any time, with or without prior notice.

Personal Belongings

  • To help minimize the risk of misplaced or unclaimed possessions, families are encouraged to clearly label each student’s items with a full name or other identifiable information. This includes clothing, bags, water bottles, electronic devices, and any other personal property. Although staff will make reasonable efforts to assist in the recovery of labeled belongings, the After School Program does not accept responsibility for any lost or forgotten items. Any unidentified materials that are recovered will be stored temporarily in a designated lost and found area.

Personal Electronic Devices

  • To reduce distractions and maintain a safe, engaged learning environment, personal electronic devices are not permitted in the After School program unless they are specifically required for a class activity.  If a device is brought to the program and is not being used for an approved instructional purpose, students will be asked to put it away.  If a student does not comply, program staff reserve the right to collect and securely hold the device until dismissal, at which point it will be returned to the student or their parent/guardian.
